The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos State has dismissed the charge of contempt proffered against the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and its Managing Director, Mr. George Uriesi.
The case was brought against Uriesi and FAAN by Maevis Limited, a former concessionaire of the Authority.
This ruling brings an end to a protracted case filed against Uriesi by Maevis, in the course of the hearing of another case filed by the concessionaire, challenging FAAN’s termination of the AOMS concession that was managed by the company.
It will be recalled that few months ago FAAN enforced the termination of the AOMS concession granted Maevis for breaches in the concession.
Uriesi said the judgment has re-affirmed his belief in the judiciary as a true arbiter.
He said that the judgment has also re-enforced his commitment to the ongoing transformation of the aviation sector.
