Rangers International FC has assured its teeming fans of its resolve to defeat the USM Bel Abbes of Algeria in their upcoming second leg encounter in the CAF/Total Confederation Cup in Enugu.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Rangers will be locking horns with USM Bel Abbes on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu (The Cathedral) by 4pm.
The first leg of the encounter between both teams ended goalless in Algeria on December 15.
Norbert Okolie, the Head, Media and Publicity of Rangers, in a statement sent to NAN in Enugu on Friday, said the team had vowed to pick the ticket for the second round of the competition after the second leg with the Algerian side.
According to Okolie, the players of Flying Antelopes are at their peak performance to make the club victorious.
He said: “The coaches and players are doing all they can to ensure that victory is achieved and get the ticket for the next round of the competition.
“Since the team return from Algeria, the coaches have been working on the team with the hope of producing a perfect team to fly the colors of the club on Sunday.”
Similarly, the General Manager of Rangers, Davidson Owumi, said: “The game is still open but we have all it takes to emerge winners at the end of the day.
“By God’s grace and some luck, I believe that we shall overcome the USM Bel Abbes challenge.
“We pray for the team from Algeria to arrive safely in Enugu but we hope to pick the ticket for the second round of the competition.
“No doubt, our performance so far in the competition can only be traced to the grace of God, team work and great motivation from our supporters.
“Victory is all we crave for and that is what we are prepared to get on Sunday.”
Okolie appealed to Rangers numerous fans to come out in their numbers to cheer the Flying Antelopes to victory on Sunday.
