The management of Metropole Development Limited, a construction company, on Tuesday announced the death of two of its workers in an industrial accident in Abuja.
This was contained in a statement from the company signed by its Project Manager, Jonathan Shuki, in Abuja.
The statement said that the deceased persons died at the company’s construction site, Plot 2941, Aguiyi Ironsi Way, Abuja, at its proposed car park.
The statement added: “The incident is highly regrettable as the company prides itself with a very high safety record and reputation for compliance with high quality workmanship.
“This particular incident is the first in its 14-year experience in the construction industry.”
It said the management condoled with the families of the deceased workers, adding that it had already extended preliminary assistance to them.
The statement said: “Management particularly wishes to thank officials of the Nigeria Police Force, National Emergency Management Agency, Federal Fire Service, National Assembly Fire Service Department, Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Red Cross Society and others for extending support and assistance in the course of the incident.”
