The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Saturday held its State Congress, with Dr. Hillary Eke returning as the State Chairman.
The election, which attracted delegates from 27 local government areas of the State, was conducted under a peaceful atmosphere, a statement by the party said.
The Congress, conducted by the Musa Umar-led National Congress Committee, took place at the NDDC Youth Skill Acquisition Center in Ehime Local Government Area of the State.
This was as a result of the burning of part of the party secretariat a week ago.
The secretariat has since then been cordoned by security agents.
The Congress, which witnessed the return of Hon. Ugochukwu Nzekwe as the Vice Chairman, also saw to the emergence of new executive members from the three zones of the State.
Speaking on his re-election, Dr. Eke thanked the party faithful for reposing confidence in him.
Eke promised to work with all so as to reposition the party for greater success with the hindsight of upholding the freedom of the citizenry and democratic tenets.
