Nigeria’s second flag bearer in the Orange/CAF Confederation Cup, Lobi Stars of Makurdi, Benue State, will on Friday do battle against Mozambican Cup champions, Liga Desportivo Muçulmana de Maputo, in the second leg, first round match.
Three weeks ago, in the first leg match decided at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, Bauchi State, the Mozambican side rattled Lobi with an early goal before Coach Dominic Iorfa rallied his troops and goals from Osas Aigbe, John Lawrence as well as Eze Stephen ensured a 3-1 victory on matchday.
The home side will have to score two goals without conceding any to edge out Lobi Stars.
Lobi Stars manager, Dominic Iorfa, says he is confident that his side will progress to the next stage of the competition.
He said: “We’re ready for the test in Maputo on Friday.
“The team has done well since the league resumed and the players are in top shape.
“I’m satisfied with preparations for Friday’s match.”
