Despite the 2-1 victory over Uruguay in their first match victory last
Sunday, not all players from the Spanish side left happy.
Six of them lost valuables at the Golden Tulip Hotel where they stayed
for the Confederation Cup match in Brazil.
There was great effort to conceal the information, which only leaked
on Thursday before their second game against Tahiti.
The value of items stolen was put at $2,900.
Of the six players that lost items, only the identity of Gerard Pique
The other five were not disclosed.
The players left the money out of the safe in their rooms in envelopes.
They also complained, according to members of the technical committee,
that the hotel structure, they considered inferior to that with which
they are accustomed with.
FIFA is responsible for choosing the hotels.
