The National Conference on Monday adjourned till Wednesday this week for delegates to study the Conference recommendations before transferring it to President Goodluck Jonathan.
It could be recalled that the leadership of the conference has shifted resumption date by one week from August 4 till August 11 because the draft final report was not ready for presentation to the Federal Government.
However, a former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, complained that the Conference would have adjourned till next week Monday to enable them study the report properly.
Osoba said: “There is need for us to do perfect and good job.
“I don’t see why we should not adjourn till next week monday in order to do it well.”
But, both Pastor Tunde Bakare and Yinka Odumakin in their own reaction said that the two days given by the conference was enough for delegates to go through the recommendations.
According to Odumakin: “I think two days is enough for us because we need to submit the report to the President on time.
“At this stage, no delegate can question the report of this conference.”
Bakare said the report is not bulky as complained by some delegates and as such the Conference can do what it should within three days.
The earlier story: The National Conference converged on Monday as planned for the consideration of its final report.
However, the conference did not sit.
The leadership only distributed the final report for the members to study.
It then adjourned the conference till Wednesday when it expects debate to begin on the final report before it is adopted.
The conference is chaired by retired Justice Idris Kutigi.
