The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted cloudy weather conditions with chances of thunderstorms and moderate rainfall activities over some parts of the country on Sunday.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Saturday, predicted thunderstorms over the central cities like Mambila Plateau, Lafia, Makurdi, Ibi, Jalingo and their environs in the morning hours.
It added that scattered thunderstorms over most parts of the region in the afternoon and evening period with day and night temperatures of 28 to 32 and 15 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that Northern States would experience partly cloudy conditions with chances of thunderstorms over Sokoto, Katsina, Gusau and Yelwa axis during the morning hours.
It also predicted scattered thunderstorms over the region in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 30 to 35 and 22 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, Southern States will experience cloudy morning over the inland and coast of the southwest with chances of thunderstorms and moderate rains over Abakaliki, Obudu, Ogoja, Ikom and the coastal belt of the southeast.
NiMet predicted: “Later in the day, thunderstorms and rains are expected to prevail over the region with day and night temperatures in the ranges of 29 to 31 and 21 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected with prospects of thunderstorms and rains over some parts of the country within the next 24 Hours.”
