The Kano State Government on Sunday said that cholera outbreak in the state had been controlled to minimal level.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Public Relations Officer of the state Ministry of Health, Malam Isma’il Gwammaja.
According to the statement, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran, made the disclosure at the social mobilisation meeting held by the Ministry.
It said that the outbreak of the disease was completely under control with drastic reduction of victims across the state.
The statement emphasised the commitment of the Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso administration to efforts to enlighten the populace on the importance of healthy growth of children under the age of five.
It said that all was now set for the commencement of polio immunisation and other child diseases in the state.
The statement also said that enough vaccines had already been distributed across the 44 local governments of the state.
It stressed the need for parents, religious leaders and other health providers to redouble efforts towards public enlightenment on the importance of oral vaccine to children below five years.
