The management board of the English Premier League side, Chelsea, has sent a congratulatory message to Nigeria for lifting the African Cup of Nations.
Chelsea’s trio of John Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Kenneth Omeruo on Sunday celebrated their first major international championship after a single goal was enough to win Nigeria the Africa Cup of Nations.
All three Chelsea men played the full 90 minutes against Burkina Faso in Johannesburg, South Africa and all played their part in the 1-0 win.
The goal came late in first half as Mikel becomes an Africa Cup of Nations champion as well a European club champion.
The message reads: Chelsea Football Club congratulates our three Nigerian players on their wonderful achievement.”
