The management of the ICT University, Yaounde, Cameroon has bestowed its life-time achievement award on Prof. Edward Olanipekun, the Vice-chancellor of Ekiti State University.

The statement said Olanipekun was honoured alongside Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
Olofinmuagun said the recipients were presented with their different awards to mark the sixth convocation ceremony of the University in Yaounde, which is one of the campuses of the ICT University Foundation of the US.
The statement said the Vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Anyambod Anya, had, during the award presentation, described Olanipekun as an “accomplished international scholar.”
Anya added: “The honour was in recognition of his immense contributions to the development of higher education.”
Anya also described Obasanjo as “Africa’s foremost son, who has shaped the political, economic, social and cultural landscape of the continent for over five decades.”
In his response, Olanipekun described the honour as a morale booster towards impacting more on the education sector.
He thanked the Council, Senate and Management of The ICT university for the honour, promising to continue contributing to the development of education in Nigeria and beyond.
