Nigeria champions, Enyimba, have been drawn in Group B of this year’s CAF Champions League along with Egypt’s Zamalek, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa and Algeria’s ES Setif.
Enyimba and Setif have won the competition twice each, while Zamalek have been champions on five occasions.
Sundowns, who are yet to win this tournament, were re-instated to the group stage of the Champions League after AS Vita of DR Congo were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player in the qualifying rounds.
Group A has Egypt’s Al Ahly, Wydad Casablanca from Morocco, ASEC Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire and Zambia’s Zesco United.
The first round of matches will be played on June 17.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, meanwhile, Group A is comprised of Mo Bajaia, Young Africans, TP Mazembe and Medeama SC, while Group B will see Kawkab Marrakech, Etoile du Sahel, Fath Union Sport and Al Ahly Tripoli battle it out for a place in the next round.
