Lagosians have been told to visit the venue of the ongoing 2016 CAF Africa Cup of Nations Beach Soccer Championship at the Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, Lagos to have fun with their families and friends.
The Co-Chairman of the Local Organising Committee put in place by the host government, Lagos State, Dr. Kweku Tandoh, said on Wednesday evening that people who want to catch real fun should visit the venue of the Beach Soccer as the host has put on ground a lot of things that will entertain the fans.
Tandoh, who was the former Director of Sports, Lagos State Sports Council, said he was happy with the packaging of the opening ceremony, which indeed revealed the socio-cultural endowment of the people of Lagos State, adding that more and improved packages with great innovations will be put in place for the closing ceremony on Sunday.
According to Tandoh, Friday, which is match free day, will be used to take the visiting teams, officials and CAF delegation on tour of notable places in the city of Lagos to show the visitors the cultural heritage of the “Centre of Excellence”.
Tandoh said: “I want to particularly commend what Lagos State was able to put in place for this tournament.
“The opening day was quite exciting and the fans turnout was so great.
“There is a lot of fun to be caught on the beach of the Eko Atlantic City.
“That is why I am calling on fans to come around and watch good football and at the same time entertain themselves with their families.”
