A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has described the anti-corruption fight of the Buhari Administration as lopsided.
Lamido, a former Governor of Jigawa State, disclosed this on Wednesday in Yola, Adamawa State when he visited the PDP State Secretariat to make his intention of seeking the party’s presidential ticket known.
The aspirant noted that all the corruption cases in the country are against those who are not in the All Progressives Congress with President Muhammadu Buhari.
While faulting the President on his claim of fighting insecurity in the country, Alhaji Lamido said the incessant killing of innocent Nigerians and destruction of properties is a sign of failure of the APC government.
The presidential aspirant added that his intention to vie for the highest job in the land was precipitated by his desire to change the bad situation Nigerians have found themselves.
Lamido said: “My desire is to serve the people and contribute my quota to redeem our bad economy.”
He assured the party that if given the ticket, he will redeem Nigeria’s dignity that has been eroded as a result of bad governance provided by the APC-led government.
He said: “l am the person Nigerians need now.
“I have all it takes to salvage our country.”
The former governor and former minister added that his vast experience in the Nigerian polity stands him out as the aspirant to beat.
He said: “In all our struggles in the party, I have remained resolute, I have never left the party.”
At the party Secretariat, Lamido was received by the state chairman and other members of the state working committee of the party.
In his remark, the state Chairman, A. T. Shehu, said as at today, only eight party members have signified their intentions to vie for the presidential ticket of the party, noting that among those seeking for the ticket, Lamido is the most experienced.
Shehu, however, said it will be a thing of joy for PDP if the eight of them will sit on a round table to present a common front in the 2019 presidential election.
Earlier, Director General, Sule Lamido Campaign Organization, Alhaji Musa Elayo, said they are in the state to seek the state’s support in the bid to rule the country.
Elayo also gave out the political credentials of the former governor.
