President Muhammadu Buhari has offered best wishes to His Royal Highness, Major General Abdullahi Mamman (retd), a member of the defunct Armed Forces Ruling Council and erstwhile Minister of Internal Affairs, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
Buhari’s wishes were contained in a statement by his Special Adviser, on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
In the statement on Tuesday, Adesina said: “The President recognises Gen. AB Mamman’s strong sense of duty and service to Nigeria throughout the length of his career as a military officer, distinguishing himself as a courageous and dependable commander at various levels, from troop and brigade Commander, to Commander, Corps of Artillery and Commandant, Command and Staff College, Jaji.
“As the Etsu Nyaba Chiefdom in Niger State, President Buhari applauds the elder statesman for bringing his many years of experience as a military officer, businessman and administrator to bear in handling the affairs of his community, working tirelessly to promote peace, prosperity and social cohesion.
“The President prays God almighty to bless the traditional ruler with more years of health and happiness.”
