The President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, cast his vote for the governorship and House of Assembly elections at Sarkin-yara Ward in Daura, Katsina State.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Buhari exercised his civic right at 2.55pm at Kofar-baru polling unit, Daura.
He was accompanied by his wife, Hajiya Aisha, who also cast her vote immediately after her husband.
NAN also reports that election materials were distributed to polling units in good time by INEC personnel.
NAN also observed that there was a low turnout of voters in some polling centres visited by its correspondent.
The electorate started voting in some units as scheduled because they finished accreditation early due to low turnout of voters.
It was, however, observed that there was large turnout of women in some polling units around Daura, Sandamu and Mai’adua local government areas of the state.
Smart Card Reader machines were also working efficiently in most of the polling units compared to the March 28 Presidential and National Assembly election.
