President Muhammadu Buhari did not attend the Jumaat prayer on Friday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja mosque.
In the last few weeks, the President had only been seen at the Jumaat prayer.
No reason had been adduced for Buhari’s absence as at press time.
A cross section of Nigerians had expressed concern on Wednesday when the President did not attend the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting without any prior notice.
However, presidential spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, said it was a last minute decision for the President not to attend the meeting.
Shehu said Buhari was only abiding by the instructions of his doctors who have told him to take things slowly.
