One of the helicopters in the fleet of Bristow Aviation Services on Wednesday crash landed in Lagos State.
Eleven persons were said to be on board the helicopter when it crash landed.
The chopper was said to have disappeared from the radar a few minutes after it took off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport.
Officials of the company and the National Emergency Management Agency have confirmed the development.
The Public Relations Officer of NEMA for the South West, Ibrahim Farinloye, said emergency workers are already at the scene.
A spokesperson of Bristow said the pilot purposely crash landed the chopper when it ran into trouble.
He said this was in the bid to avert disaster.
