The much-awaited Metro Pro League 2013/14 season will kick off on Wednesday with historic rivals, Bridge FC and 36 Lion FC, taking the centre stage at Agege Stadium, Agege, Lagos.
The kick off time is 4pm.
The Metro Pro League, according to Victor Akinyooye, who is the Chief Executive Officer, is a private initiative as it is devoid of government involvement.
Akinyooye said: “The idea of Metro Pro League is to administer football in Lagos State on an international standard as it is being run in more developed countries.
“Ten privately owned clubs have come together to establish the Metro Pro League
“Matches will be played in four venues across Lagos State.
“The venues are: Agege Stadium; Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere; Strong Tower Academy, Ikorodu; and LASU pitch.
“All logistics are in place for the league to kick off.
“So we enjoin Lagosians and football lovers to come out en masse to watch high level of entertaining football with good officiating.”
Meanwhile, the other clubs that will do battle on home and away basis this season are: Union Bank, Remo Stars of Shagamu, Yobo FC, Collin Edwin Sports Club, Apapa Golden Stars, Nath Boys FC, AS Racine FC and Bolowotan FC.
