Werder Bremen have pulled the plug in their pursuit of Lazio midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, after failing to meet his valuation.
The online edition of German newspaper, Kreiszeitung, has reported that the Nigeria international will cost €8 million, a high transfer fee to the Weserstadion outfit.
In addition, the Bundesliga side have taken note that Onazi lacks match practice, with only six games under his belt in the Serie A from a possible 21.
The central midfielder has been linked with possible moves to Newcastle United and Swansea City in this window but the English clubs have not firmed up their interest by making an official bid to the Biancoceleste.
Onazi is tied to Lazio until the summer of 2018.
