Gina Haspel has emerged the first woman to head the United States of America Central Intelligence Agency.
President Donald Trump announced the development as he named the head of the CIA, Mike Pompeo, as the new Secretary of State.
Trump had via his Twitter handle on Tuesday announced the sack of Rex Tillerson as the US Secretary of State.
He tweeted: “Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job! Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen.
“Congratulations to all!”
