Two suspects have been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command in connection with the kidnap of the Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaki Musibau, and six others.
Musibau and the others, who were kidnapped on April 6, 2019, regained their freedom on Tuesday at 8pm.
After their release, the Lagos State Police Command’s Tactical teams, led by the Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, SP Bulus R. Musa, intensified efforts at arresting members of the kidnap gang.
This led to the arrest of two members of the kidnapping gang.
Those arrested were 29-year-old Blessing Bayo and Smart Alfred, who is 32-years-old.
They are from Arogbo in Ondo State.
They were arrested on April 10, 2019 at at about 5:30am at Ibafun along Ikorodu-Ijebu Ode Expressway, a boundary community of Lagos and Ogun States.
Bayo and Alfred have confessed to the commission of the crime.
Two single barrel guns were recovered from them.
The police said investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.
