An accident which involved a heavy laden trailer has claimed the lives of four persons after it lost control, hit a motorbike and fell into the Kaduna River that separates Izom and Lambata in Niger State.
The incident, which happened 20km from Suleja, occurred at about 4:30pm, leaving the trailer driver and three other passengers believed to be conductors dead.
This brings the number of accident along the Minna-Suleja Road to three in the past one week.
According to an eyewitness account, the trailer, which carried a container, with content not ascertained, had break failure, tried to manoeuvre and then hit a bike man with his passenger, leaving them seriously injured.
As at the time of filing this report, officers of the Federal Road Safety Corp had arrived the scene of the accident making frantic efforts to evacuate the lifeless bodies of the trailer driver and his three passengers, believed to be his conductors.
The injured motorcycle rider and the passengers, who sustained serious injuries, were rushed to a medical facility at Gawu Babangida in Gurara Local Government Area of the State.
The trailer according to findings was coming from Kaduna bound however brought about serious hold up.
