Breaking: Top Ijesha Chief and socialite, Lomi Abiola, is dead

A top chief in Ijesaland and socialite, Chief Lomi Abiola, is dead.
According to information available to The Eagle Online, Abiola, who featured prominently in an album of Juju music maestro, King Sunny Ade, died at about 8pm on Sunday.
Sunny Ade, in one of his most prominent albums, titled: “Oro yi o dariwo bee je nf’Abiola,” heaped praises on Abiola.
Sources told The Eagle Online that Abiola had been down with enlarged heart problems before he died on Sunday.
He was said to be preparing to go to Germany for medicare.
He, however, suffered a stroke on Sunday and was taken to the University of Ife Teaching Hospital Intensive Care Unit, where he died.
Abiola was aged 72.
Sources told The Eagle Online that he was very close to the Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
Indeed a source described him as one of the godfathers of Aregbesola.
They are both of Ijesa origin.
