The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeals filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23, 2019 poll.
The appeals by Abubakar and the party were dismissed by the apex court on Wednesday.
The seven-man panel, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed, said the justices agreed that there is no merit in the appeal.
Mohammed the panel has been reviewing the case for the past two weeks, adding that the reasons for the dismissal of the appeals would be given at a later date.
Abubakar and the PDP went to the Supreme Court yo challenge the September 11, 2019 judgment of the Justice Mohammed Garba-led Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, which affirmed President Buhari’s victory at the poll.
