Breaking: Saraki, Gov. Ahmed dump APC

The announcement was made by Saraki on his Twitter handle on Tuesday evening

The President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and the Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, have announced their exit from the All Progressives Congress.
The announcement was made by Saraki on his Twitter handle on Tuesday evening.
He tweeted: “I wish to inform Nigerians that, after extensive consultations, I have decided to take my leave of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
But he did not announce his next destination.
The expectation is that he will declare for the Peoples Democratic Party.
However, the home chapter of the PDP in Kwara State does not want anything to do with Saraki.
The Chairman of the Kwara State chapter of the party, Akogun Iyiola , said the chapter does not want to have anything to do with Saraki.
Ahmed, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Dr. Muyideen Akorede, announced his defection from the APC.
In his own case, he said he was moving into the PDP.
The message by Akorede read: “Following due consultations with the people and in response to calls by major stakeholder groups in the state, Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed today defected to the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), having realized that the All Progressive Congress (APC) can no longer serve as a platform for achieving the aspirations and expectations of his people.”
