Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party will on Wednesday (today) meet former Rivers State Governor and Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Moves by 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to impeach the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, resulted in turbulence in the state on Monday, as the governor’s loyalists stormed the assembly complex in protest against the plot.
The PDP Governors’ Forum, under the leadership of the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, in a communiqué read after a meeting of the group at the Oyo State Lodge in Abuja on Tuesday, commended President Bola Tinubu for his intervention in the political crisis.

The forum in a statement by its Director-General, Cyril Maduabum, on Wednesday, disclosed that the decision to visit Wike was reached at the forum’s meeting on Tuesday.
Maduabum explained that the visit is for reconciliation and mediation purposes.
The statement read in part ” The Chairman of the Forum, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, hereby requests member Governors to converge at his residence, No 1 Miriam Aloma Muktar Street, Asokoro, opposite Rivers State Governors Lodge at 10.45 am to accompany him for the visit.”
The visit is slated to hold in the FCT Minister’s office, by 11am.
