Over 30 fans of Manchester United FC are feared to have died at a football viewing centre in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, on Thursday.
They were electrocuted by a high tension cable that reportedly fell on them at a viewing centre.
The fans were watching the Europa League quarter-final match between Manchester United and Anderlecht when the electrical cable fell on them.
Manchester United won the match 3-2.
According to available information, the football fans were watching the match in a building along Akpandem Street, Atimbo.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Cross River State Command, Irene Ugbo, confirmed the incident.
Ugbo said the number of casualties would be confirmed on Friday (today).
