Godwin Obaseki has won the Edo State governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress, which ended in the wee hours of Sunday.
The primaries was held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, the state capital, commencing at about 5:30pm on Saturday.
Obaseki is believed to be the anointed candidate of the incumbent, Governor Adams Oshimhole.
In all, 12 candidates contested the primaries, including Oshiuomhole’s Deputy, Dr. Pius Odubu.
Others who stood for the primaries supervised by the Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Masari, included Engineer Chris Ogiemwonyi, Barrister Kenneth Imasuangbon, retired General Charles Airhavbere and Comrade Peter Esele.
