Some Nigerians fleeing the war in Sudan have been granted access into Egypt via Arqeen to board their flight from Aswan International Airport back to Nigeria.
As earlier reported by The Eagle Online, Nigerian Air Force C130 and Air Peace planes are already on ground.
While the NAF C130 plane has been on ground for about five days, Air Peace flew in on Tuesday.
Those who left Arqeen at about 5am are said to be heading to Aswan International Airport, which is located 16km southwest of Aswan, Egypt.
It was learnt it would take them about five hours to arrive at Aswan for the onward journey back home.
The stranded students at Arqeen border were successfully moved by Nigerian officials from the Sudanese side to the Egyptian side of the border.
Priority was given to female students in the orderly movement of the 449 students across the border.
However, Egyptian authorities are insisting only those the aircraft can lift should be brought into their country per time.
The Nigerian team at Abusimbel will be evacuating the Wadi Halfa group on Wednesday morning (today), a further report has it.
Those at Port Sudan border will be the third group to be evacuated because they just arrived on Tuesday.
Those at Arqeen and Wadi Halfa had been at the borders for about six days.
