Information just filtering in has it that troops on Monday afternoon reclaimed the strategic town of Bama in Borno State from Boko Haram.
A source close to the operation confirmed the development on Monday evening.
The source however did not disclose the troops that carried out the operation.
The Defence Headquarters is expected to provide more details in the course of the day.
