The Supreme Court has ordered the suspension of the trial of the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, by the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
The Court ordered the stoppage of the trial on Thursday.
The order of the Court came after the Federal Government had given an undertaking to the Supreme Court not to proceed with the criminal case against Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
The undertaking was given on Thursday by the counsel to the Federal Government, Rotimi Jacob (SAN), at the hearing of the case instituted by Saraki at the Supreme Court against his trial by the CCT.
This was as the Supreme Court also promised to expedite the hearing of the case.
