Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has emerged as the Leader of the House of Representatives.
The emergence of Gbajabiamila was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Details of the compromise reached by the lawmakers elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress for Gbajabiamila to emerge were sketchy as at press time.
He was initially pencilled down by the leadership of the APC to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
But after the emergence of Hon. Yakubu Dogara as Speaker and Hon. Yusuf Lasun as his Deputy, it was thought that Gbajabiamila had totally lost out in the quest to occupy the position of a Principal Officer in the House.
This was because like Lasun, he is from the South West.
The argument had been that for equity, other zones of the country should be allowed to produce Principal Officers.
More so, Lasun vowed not to vacate his position as Deputy Speaker for Gbajabiamila.
