The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ahmad Lawan, has emerged the winner of the Senate President’s seat.
Though counting was yet to end, Lawan had secured the required votes to beat his sole opponent, Senator Ali Ndume, midway into counting.
The election followed the inauguration of the Senate on Tuesday.
