Dr. Tavershima Adyorororough, the Principal Special Assistant on Knowledge Economy and Investments to the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has been shot dead in his Makurdi, Benue State home, The Punch is reporting.
In an immediate reaction, the Governor has demanded for the arrest and prosecution of the killers.
The Punch said it gathered that unknown gunmen broke into the home of Adyorororough at about 12:30am on Sunday at Nyinma Layout in Makurdi, where they shot him and his wife.
The wife survived the gunshots and is receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, Ortom demanded for the arrest of the killers.
He described the killing as unacceptable and condemnable.
