No fewer than four persons were confirmed killed on Monday on the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway by armed men.
The development was confirmed by the Kaduna State Police Command in a statement by its spokesman, DSP Mukhtar Aliyu.
According to the police, a distress call was received at about 06:30pm that a group of unidentified armed men blocked the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway by Gidan Busa village and opened fire indiscriminately at any vehicle on sight.
In a swift response, teams of policemen stormed the scene, where the bandits were dislodged.
However, before they were dislodged, they armed men had already killed four commuters and injured five others.
Aliyu said normalcy has been restored on the road with commuters moving safely without molestation.
