The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Ekiti State governorship election, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has won the two remaining local government areas that were yet to be officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission when The Eagle Online made available the results from 14 local government areas of the state on Sunday morning.
The election was held on Saturday in the 16 local government areas of the state.
In the first 14 local government areas announced by INEC between Saturday night and 5:45am on Sunday, Fayemi won in 10, while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and incumbent Deputy Governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, won in four.
In the remaining two local government areas of Ido Osi and Ekiti South West, Fayemi defeated the preferred candidate of the incumbent, Governor Ayo Fayose.
While Fayemi polled 12,342 votes in Ido Osi Local Government Area, Olusola had 11,145.
For Ekiti South West Local Government Area, Fayemi had 11,015 votes to Olusola’s 8,423.
