The Chairman of the Ekiti State Governorship Primary Election Committee, Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State, has declared the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the winner of the election.
The election was held on Saturday.
Fayemi polled 941 votes to beat 32 other aspirants.
Segun Oni scored 481 votes to come second, while third was Kayode Ojo with 281 votes.
According to the information made available by the organising committee, 2,337 delegates were accredited to vote.
Al-Makura said Fayemi scored the highest number of votes and satisfied all requirements, thereby declaring him the winner.
He said there were 2,313 total valid votes.
He thanked the contestants, security agents and delegates for cooperating with the committee to make the exercise a success.
