A former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, and ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Alhaji Ahmed Yayale, have defected to All Progressives Congress.
The duo’s defection was made known by the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Bauchi State, Yayanuwa Zainabari.
Before now, Mu’azu had distanced himself from PDP’s activities and had met with President Muhammadu Buhari recently in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Zainabari described the exit of the PDP bigwigs to APC in Bauchi as shocking and a big slap to the party ahead of the 2019 polls.
He said: “Honestly, we have confirmed the exits of former national chairman, deputy national chairman and other two.
“It’s a big shock to the PDP.
“However, the party remains strong to sweep the election owing to APC’s failures.”
