A High Court in Kano on Friday stopped the State Governor, Umar Ganduje, from splitting the Kano Emirate into four.
The House of Assembly had on Thursday passed a bill empowering the Governor to split the Emirate into four.
The Bill was immediately signed into law by Ganduje.
Followers of development in the state believe the move was targeted at the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, who was opposed to the Governor’s reelection bid.
