The website set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria to provide update on the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) is down.
This comes about 24 hours after the Federal Government said it had saddled the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control with the task of updating Nigerians on COVID-19 in a bid to prevent the physical gathering of newsmen for briefing.
Before then, the Minister of Health, Dr. Ehanire Osagie; Minister of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora; Director General of the NCDC, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu; and other top government officials had taken time out to physically brief the media on developments.
However, by Sunday evening, the website was no longer available.
It returned with the message: “Not Found.
“The requested URL was not found on this server.
“Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”
As at press time, no explanation had been offered for the development.
However, updates are still obtainable from the Twitter hangle for the NCDC.
