The Supreme Court has dismissed the applications of the All Progressives Congress and its candidate, David Lyon, seeking a review of the judgment of the apex court on the Bayelsa State governorship election.
The judgment was delivered on Wednesday by the seven-man panel of the court.
The judgment, read by Justice Amina Augie, said the initial position of the court was final and cannot be reviewed.
The court had on February 13, 2020 stopped the inauguration of Lyon on February 14 as governor because his running mate, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, presented forged certificates to stand for the election to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
In Lyon’s place, INEC declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party as the validly elected governor of Bayelsa State.
