The Academic Staff Union of Universities and the Federal Government have reached an agreement over the industrial dispute declared by the lecturers since November 4, 2018.
The agreement was reached on Thursday evening after over three hours of meeting hosted by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige.
The National President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, confirmed the development on Thursday.
Ogunyemi said: “Our members are waiting for us currently.
“You will hear from us before the end of the day.
“We have signed a document on behalf of our members.”
Ngige said the government had resolved the eight contentious issues with ASUU.
He said some of the issues have already been implemented.
