Breaking: 30 armed policemen move to to rearrest Melaye from hospital bed
No fewer than 30 heavily armed policemen have stormed Zankili Medical Centre in Abuja to rearrest Senator Dino Melaye, The Eagle Online is reporting.
Melaye landed in the hospital following his move to escape from police arrest by jumping out of a moving police van as earlier reported by The Eagle Online.
The embattled representative of Kogi West Senatorial District was being taken to Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, after his arrest earlier in the day.
He was accused of gun running by a suspect, a claim he denied.
However, he refused to honour the invitation of the Kogi State Police Command over the issue.
The fully armed policemen, The Eagle Online can report, were led by the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood.
Policemen earlier deployed to the hospital have restricted movement into and out of the hospital.
They have been insisting on anyone going in for means of identification as observed by The Eagle Online.
