Nigeria again has been drawn against Lionel Messi’s Argentina in group F that also has Iran and Bosnia in a Brazil 2014 World Cup draw held on Friday.
The draw marks both sides second successive meetings in the group stages of the World Cup after they clashed in South Africa three years ago.
The Super Eagles qualified for Friday’s draw after seeing off Ethiopia 4-1 on aggregate over a two legged encounter.
This came after qualifying from group H with 12 point to top the group.
In other draws involving other African nations, Ghana faces a tough test of going through after being drawn against Germany, Portugal and USA.
Algeria will face Belgium, Korea and Russia in group H.
Cameroon were handed Brazil, Croatia and Mexico in group A while Didier Drogba and his Ivorian side will take on Greece, Colombia and Japan.
The teams in Pot 1 were automatically assigned position 1 in the groups in which they were drawn, with Brazil, as hosts, then Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and Uruguay as the best-placed teams in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking for the month of October 2013.
The first step of the draw was to pick out a team from Pot 4, the only one with nine teams, and put inside into Pot 2, in order to ensure each zone had eight balls.
Then it was back to Pot 1 and Brazil was placed into Group A, with the rest of the seeds drawn in position 1 of the remaining group.
