Real Madrid star forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, limped out of Portugal’s training on Wednesday in Brazil, leaving behind concerns that his 2014 FIFA World Cup participation could be in doubt.
The 29-year-old Portugal captain left the field early with an ice pack strapped to his left knee.
The reigning World Player of the Year has suffered from knee and thigh injuries since the end of the domestic season.
Portugal, which lost their opening Group G game on Monday 0-4 to Germany, faces the US on Sunday in their second but very important game.
They need a win to stand a chance of advancing to the next round of the competition.
