Usain Bolt overcame a sluggish start to claim a narrow 100m victory at the Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Bolt narrowly beat Cuba’s Yunier Perez to finish in 10.06 seconds after digging deep to find his trademark surge in the back half of the race.
Bolt, after his ninth appearance in 11 years in Ostrava, was given a special farewell as his career winds up to a potential farewell at the World Championships in London.
He was presented to the crowd before the Jamaican national anthem was sung in his honour.
“I’m not happy with the time,” Bolt said. “I’m just getting into my running. I have some training to do to get some good execution. I’ll be fine. No worries.”
