The National Chairman of the Council of Ulama of Jamaatul Izalatul Bidia Wa Ikamatus Sunnah, popularly known as JIBWIS, Sheik Sani Yahaya Jingir, has condemned in strong terms Friday’s Kano Mosque Bombing attack.
The cleric described the recent Kano attacks as an attempt to create problem between Muslims and Christians in the Country.
Consequently, JIBWIS also warned President Goodluck Jonathan to stop deceiving Nigerians that he will fish out the attackers.
Jingir said: “Such is now boring and insulting on the intelligence of people.”
According to him, the attack in Kano Central Mosque was a pointer that the terrorists have no boundaries.
He said: “We must stop pointing fingers on each other but unite against the common enemy.
“Therefore, we are calling on all Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic background, to unite against the terrorist.
“The Kano Central Mosque attack is clarion call for self defence and we reiterate the call for self-defence.
“We support the idea made by the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sunusi II, who advocated for self defence as means to halt the terrorist.”
Jingir commended the people of Kano State for not taking laws into their hands, adding: “People of Kano have demonstrated maturity for being calm even after provocation by callous and wicked minded people who intend to break the fabric of cohesion and install disharmony and hatred among Nigerians.
“We must create a legitimate means to defend ourselves.
“We must give all the moral and financial support to our youths, build their capacity to enhance our security.
“We have trained our men, women, youths and children to be security conscious and learn how to protect our mosques, schools, markets and other public places and handle security situation.
“The level of impunity in our country has reached its highest peak.
“We are calling on security operatives in the country on needs to redouble their efforts and fish out bad eggs among them.
“There are hypocrites in the security cycle.
“They must fish them out and maintain discipline in the system and address the security challenges in the country.”
Jingir commiserated with the emir, government and people of Kano State for the sad event and prayed Allah to comfort those that lost loved ones and wish the injured quick recovery.
