The Borno State Government has said it will require between N3 billion and N5 billion to reconstruct public and private buildings damaged by the Boko Haram terrorists in Bama Local Government Area of the state.
Dr. Babagana Umara, the Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement, stated this while speaking at a stakeholders forum on the reconstruction of the LGA in Maiduguri.
Umara said, however, that government had moulded about one million blocks for the planned reconstruction work in spite of its meagre resources.
He said the government was still expecting support from the Victims’ Support Fund set up by the Federal Government.
Umara said the prevailing Boko Haram terrorists attacks had also hampered government’s plans to start the reconstruction work.
He advised the people to evolve ways of resisting the attacks, so that government could go ahead with its reconstruction plan.
