Three children have been slaughtered by suspected terrorists in the presence of their mother in Borno State.
The children – ages five, seven and 12 – were slaughtered on Thursday in Sulimanti Ward of Maiduguri, Borno State by gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram.
Their father, a personnel of the State Security Service, Aduju Zubairu, was said to be away when the incident happened.
The gunmen were said to have broken into the home of Zubairu at about 1:55am.
They reportedly broke the main gate to have access to the house and shot the three children in the presence of their mother.
Five other persons were also killed in the wee hours of Thursday by the suspected terrorists.
